Hi, my name is Jarkko and I'm a wannabe AE. I'm a 21-year-old audio production student from Eastern Finland - the city of Joensuu, to be exact. I'm a long way from being a pro, but that has been pretty much my only goal since I was fifteen or so, and I'm willing to work for it. I have a modest home studio which takes pretty much all the spare cash I can gather. I've done some F.O.H. work, too, mostly for the live music organization I've been in for the last four years or so, and which I'm "taking control" of with a friend of mine in the near future. My main passion has been metal for quite a long time now, but I'm almost equally interested in pretty much every kind of music. With some exceptions, of course

I'm also a horrible guitarist, and I've got a project band called Mammoth (website here: http://www.tainted-studio.com/mammoth/), which is just me and the vocalist for now. It's more of a means of therapy than a serious effort, but we are planning to write and record an album sometime in the future, just for the hell of it.

Hi, I'm Anssi Tenhunen, 25 year old fella from Finland. I lived 23 years in the not-so-beautiful capital, Helsinki, but last year I moved temporarily to middle of fucking nowhere to study music production and marketing to a place called Virrat. Population 7000, only two bars in the whole town and ~100km to all of the nearest cities, Seinäjoki, Tampere and Jyväskylä.

I have a small non-commercial home studio for making own demos, but I've done mostly live-engineering since 2001, fulltime since 2004. I stopped counting the gigs after 300, but I think I've mixing (either FOH or monitors) about 1200 gigs so far. I'm thinking of putting up my own company because it's a lot easier to invoice that way.

I've been a regular house engineer in 6 different clubs around Finland and in the Silja Europa passenger cruiseship and a tour FOH-engineer for 7 bands, but because my current relocation I currently only mix Ancara regularly and Sacrecy when their regular engineer Meelis Niin (who has mixed such small bands like Metallica...) can't make it, but I wouldn't have enough energy to travel back and forth Helsinki-Virrat-Helsinki (which is about 600km) all the time anyway to mix other bands, especially because I don't have a drivers license. Anyways I am going for atleast 2-3 tours with Ancara in the coming 12 months, and hopefully to one of them will be one that lasts about 9 weeks... Fingers crossed. If we make it, I promise to make a blog out of it

Do it. It makes your life so much easier, and honestly isn't such a difficult procedure as they say, especially if the company's income is fairly small.

Marcus Hedwig here. 22 years old, just graduated college (undergrad) in May '09 with a degree in Geography (concentrating in Land Use Planning), and my goal with AE'ing (and the reason I got into it) is simply to make my own stuff sound as good as possible! Thus the totally unrelated degree choice; I don't want to do anything related to music for a living (except maybe retail ) lest it take away my energy/motivation to continue working on my own, and Land Use Planning seemed like the kind of job with sufficient if not glamorous income, stable hours, and good benefits that would allow me to do just that! (though who knows if I'll end up pursuing it as a career, definitely at quite the uncertain transition point atm!)

I'm Rafael (NOT Garcia in fact), 21 years old, currently unemployed (though starting civil service in October), with no idea about Audio production and I have 2 bands with effectively no members.
I'm here 'cause lately I've been bored out of my mind and desperately searching something to entertain me.
